Woodstock Builds 2 New Fire Stations

The City of Woodstock held a groundbreaking ceremony for Fire Station 28 on Ridgewalk Parkway, marking a major step in expanding public safety services for its growing population. City Manager Jeff Moon and Fire Chief Shane Dobson emphasized the project’s long-awaited progress and the department’s continued growth, with a fourth station already planned. Council Member Warren Johnson noted the city’s population increase from 6,800 to nearly 40,000 residents and the need for improved emergency response access to key areas like I-575 and Brookshire. Funded by SPLOST, the new station will include three apparatus bays, firefighter living quarters, and training space, with completion expected in 2026.
